Beautiful Red Tick Coonhound needs patient home

We have been fostering this sweet girl for an animal rescue. She was given up by a farm family who had too many dogs. She was used for her puppies, then not fed an adequate diet, When the rescue that we foster for got her she was emaciated. She is now a healthy weight and is so very sweet. She does need a patient, firm but loving adopter because she counter surfs and if she smells food, she will try to get into cabinets or refrigerators. She loves to play with other large breed dogs who have a playful and calm demeanor, not aggressive. She does have a prey drive so no small dogs, no cats, no ferrets or small pets. She loves kids but gets excited when she sees ALL people so she jumps so older kids is best. She loves to give kisses, although they are pretty sloppy! She is potty trained but you need to keep her on a schedule or she will have an accident (hounds get used to and do best on a schedule). She would do best in a home that has a fenced yard and someone who would walk her a few times a week. If you live in a more rural area but have a heated and cooled shop, she would be great for a setting like that as long as you still treat her like a member of the family. She does have crate anxiety. When we leave, we have a clean area in our basement that she does well in where there is no refrigerator or cabinets with food that she can get into. Unfortunately we cannot adopt her due to our schedules and recent life changes, so Caroline needs to find a loving home soon. She is spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped. She will come with enough food to last several weeks. Her adoption fee is $200 but the rescue is willing to work with an adopter on this. They are most concerned about getting Caroline into the right home. They are willing to deliver her pretty much anywhere as long as she is going to a safe FOREVER home who will work with her on her issues and love her as a family member.
