Maintenance Technician Needed for Large Apartment Community Wingate Companies is currently hiring for a Maintenance Technician for the Eagle Creek area of Indianapolis. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on apartments that are occupied as well as vacant apartments for new move ins. Responsibilities include working on assigned work requests, projects and grounds. All work will be done in compliance with EPA, OSHA safety rules and regulations. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Perform building, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary Implement preventative maintenance measures Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel. Perform other maintenance duties as requested Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma/GED required Experience in apartment industry preferred Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair EPA certification is helpful Effective written and oral communication skills Able to work well with on site supervision Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures Must have own hand tools and ability to operate Freon recovery machinery, air conditioning gauges, and vacuum pumps, etc. Must have reliable transportation available daily and a valid drivers license.
