Remove smoke detector

I have a hard-wired smoke detector that is chirping non-stop. Removed backup battery but because it's hard-wired that didn't stop the constant chirping. Need someone with some electrical knowledge to remove this malfunctioning smoke detector and just cap off the wires. Maybe install a new one if you can but for now just get this one to STOP chirping! Home is in Sheridan, Yamhill County.
