Join our Volunteer team to help Meals on Wheels in King County fight hunger! As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service. Volunteer Caller: A volunteer is needed to call Meals on Wheels participants for their weekly order on Wednesday mornings, 9:00 am – 11:00 am. We’re looking for someone available long-term. Training will be provided. Delivery Drivers: Volunteer are needed to deliver meals in Burien on Wednesday mornings. Volunteers pick up meals in Burien between 10:30 am – 11 am, and are typically done with their route in 1 - 1.5 hours. We are also in need of back-up drivers to fill in as needed. Training is provided and mileage is reimbursable while making deliveries. Qualifications: A commitment to the well-being of homebound elders, good communication and people skills, reliable, and good cheer. This is an on-going volunteer commitment and we are looking for volunteers available long-term. Requirements: Complete an application, consent to a background check, be able to lift 15lbs, be at least 18 years of age, and have a Washington state driver's license.
