Description
hey there. i'm a drummer looking to start or join a somewhat eclectic project. i'm not sure how to describe the sound i'm interested in, but i'd like to write groove-oriented songs that have elements of jazz, fusion, post-rock, and electronica to them. an instrumental project makes the most sense to me, but if you're a vocalist and it fits, that's great. i often find it's easiest to point to bands/records that inspire the sound i'm looking for, so here you go:
-Vels Trio (https://velstrio.bandcamp.com/album/yellow-ochre-official-reissue)
- Facs (https://wearefacs.bandcamp.com/album/void-moments)
- Battles (https://battles.bandcamp.com/album/ep-c-b-ep)
a bit about me - I'm 35, have a 9-to-5 job that restricts when I can play a bit, though I work from home and have a fair amount of flexibility in my schedule. i also sing and play guitar in another Seattle project. i'm not looking to tour or make music a career, but I take music seriously and i want to play with musicians who are willing to work to make something good and worth sharing.
musically, i'm comfortable with odd meters, extended or non-standard song structures (not verse-chorus-verse), playing to a click, and some limited improvisation. i have experience editing and mixing in Logic, and would like to be part of a collaborative writing process. if this sounds interesting, please feel free to get in touch!
