Summer is more fun with a dog! If you’ve been considering adopting a dog, now may be the perfect time.
On Saturday and Sunday, July 9 &10, from noon to 4 p.m., the Jackson County Animal Shelter is reducing the adoption fee for all dogs aged 6 months and older to just $50 (a 66% reduction from the $150 fee) plus a $25 licensing fee for Jackson County residents. No appointment is needed for this.
During this event, adopters will go through the same standard adoption process they would if applying at other times, which includes an application and screening requirements. For event details and to view all of the wonderful canines available, visit: fotas.org/summer-dogs, then click “View Available Dogs Here” to scroll and see all the dogs.
The shelter and Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS) are emphasizing our long-timer dogs who are STILL awaiting a loving, fur-ever home. The animal shelter is full and needs to make room for the continuing intake of dogs needing to be cared for. These shelter dogs have been screened for temperament and health issues and determined to be adoptable companions. All adopted dogs are spayed and neutered, microchipped, prior to going to their new homes. A collar and leash are included for each dog.
This event is made possible by FOTAS which is paying the discounted difference for each dog, as well as providing volunteers necessary to hold the event.
