Outlaw Psychobilly Band needs musicians

Description

I have been dreaming of a sound for years and I am close but I can't do it by myself! We need at minimum percussion and some kind of bass, and perhaps a second melody or rhythm player. I'm not sure what instrumentation we'll end up with, or who the next person will be, but maybe it's you? I have increasing momentum with my solo show, people are really loving it, but it would be way cooler with a band! I know how to sing and play hundreds of songs; my current sets tend to include selections from New Riders of the Purple Sage, the Beat Farmers, Grateful Dead, Steve Earle, Johnny Cash, Rolling Stones, bluegrass, old-time, and blues plus a few originals here and there. I grew up playing classical violin, then spent many years on fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and acoustic guitar in bluegrass bands and hosting an open stage. Over the past few months, I got a Les Paul, a Telecaster, and an electric banjo, and started building a crazy pedal board which allows me to switch among four instruments with the flip of a switch and play them all through a chain of effects that can give me sounds ranging from country twang and crunchy blues on my guitars, lonesome wailing on my fiddle, my infamous "space banjo" and even full blown noise music madness. I can be band leader, and I can also be backup musician. The show is high-energy, improvisational and largely unpredictable, very melodic with driving rhythms and heavy country-western themes, from the clothing to the song selections. The band needs musicians who watch and listen, and who are willing to practice regularly. I've been getting shows by myself at minor venues like coffee shops, but I want to bring the band to play at cool bars and festivals. Here are some other instruments and skills that might fit well: Standard drum kit Alternative percussion Upright bass Electric bass Keyboards Pedal steel Lap steel Guitars Banjo Mandolin Fiddle Viola Cello Other string instruments Other nonstring instruments Singing Songwriting Marketing Graphic design Could it be you? Or maybe you already have a band and it's me you're looking for. Send me a message and let's make some music together
