We are pleased to announce that the 2022 Oklahoma Transportation Symposium will be held on August 4, 2022 (Thursday) from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the OSU Discovery Building in the OKC Innovation District located at 300 NE 9th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104. This annual research-oriented Symposium will be in-person only. Introduction The Annual Oklahoma Summer Transportation Symposium is hosted by the Oklahoma State University (OSU) in collaboration with the University of Oklahoma (OU) and sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. The summer symposium serves as a forum to network, discuss, and understand transportation issues we face in Oklahoma for engineers interested in addressing some of these challenges, as well as to gain a better understanding of career options for civil engineering students. Symposium topics cover bridges, pavements, materials, planning, construction, geotechnical, and environmental issues. The symposium will include both podium and poster sessions. Solicitation of PresentationsThis event offers a great opportunity to showcase your research at the state and national levels. Besides the keynote talks in the morning, we are soliciting 20-25 minute presentations on transportation-related research, on the broad topics of resilient and sustainable infrastructure systems, civil materials, health monitoring and condition evaluation, traffic mobility and safety, system operations and management, emerging transportation technologies, big data analytics, multi-modal transportation, and climate/weather effects on transportation. Faculty members, industrial practitioners, and student researchers are cordially invited to participate. If you are interested in presenting, please email your presentation title, authors’ names, short bio for the presenter, and preference of presentation or poster to Joshua Li ([email protected]) or Royce Floyd ([email protected]) by July 15th, 2022 (Friday). We specifically encourage undergraduate and graduate student presentations and welcome student posters. PostersA limited number of podium presentation slots are available, but any topics not included as presentations will be invited as posters. Precedence will be given to presentations within the theme areas of the symposium and based on the order they are received. Undergraduate and graduate students are highly encouraged to send in poster presentations. Interested students should email the conference chair or co-chair with a title and co-authors as soon as possible. Acceptance emails along with a PPT template will be sent out as the emails with titles are received and reviewed. Poster PPTs must be submitted to the chairs by July 15, 2022 (Friday) and physical posters shall be brought to the symposium before the start of the symposium. RegistrationFree registrations with ADA accessible parking and complimentary breakfast and lunch. Students are particularly encouraged to register and attend. Registration is due 12:00 pm July 22, 2022 (Friday). 5 Free PDHs will be awarded after attendance of the event.
