Yorkies or Small dog

We were told we had a dog from a poster for $200 with a few meet and greets with the dog then the owner made all kinds of rules it was rediculous and devastated my grandchildren.So we are on the search for a small family friendly dog. The dog will live at my home as we are home all day and the grandkids visit during the week and weekends to come for a visit or swim. We had a Yorkie for 19 years best dog ever. We own our home,fenced yard,are home all day and we are looking for another companion dog. The kids saved $200 towards the dog so far.let us know if you have a small dog that would be a good fit for our family. We tried shelters mostly pitties and large dogs not what we are looking for. My husband has neuropathy in his legs and can't handle a large dog. Thanks
