Join us in learning how to create an Early-American braided rug, an heirloom that will last for generations. As part of the Cheney Homestead Museum’s “Early American Craft” series, instructor, Teri Stratton will instruct participants in the art of creating a chair pad, a miniature version of a small braided rug. With the technical knowledge gained, students will be able to independently create larger rugs with confidence.
A materials fee of $10 will provide each student with a kit that will enable them to complete their first project. The kit includes the wool for the chair pad. Please bring the $10 materials fee to the workshop to be paid directly to the instructor. If you have rug braiding tools, please bring what you have to the workshop.
