About the Artist Julie Cote is a contemporary realist painter who lives and works in North Kingstown, RI. A native Rhode Islander, Julie grew up loving the beach. Much of her work is inspired by the power and majesty of the mighty sea. Picturesque seascapes, landscapes, lighthouses and waves are typically the theme of her paintings. Julie also loves to create all kinds of coastal themed arts and crafts. Julie went to Savannah College of Art and Design and studied Art and Architecture. She worked in the field of Architecture for over a decade before coming home to start a family. As a homeschool mom of 3, Julie has discovered a love for learning and teaching. Later in life she attended a sip and paint event and fell in love with painting . Over the past 8 years, Julie has been teaching herself and others to paint using acrylic, oil and resin. Julie believes that painting is a wonderful way to express your creativity as well as connect with the beauty of the world around you. Once you begin to paint, you cannot help but notice all of the vibrant colors and beautiful details of God’s wonderful creation. As a teacher, Julie works to help her students discover that they can create beautiful works of art, by following easy, step by step instructions and utilizing basic tools to help in the creative process.
