Mark Rigsby is a potter and ceramic artist from Mississippi. He has been working in clay for over 25 years, and is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Art and Design at Southern Miss. Rigsby's love of the folk pottery tradition inspired him to begin conducting clay workshops in schools and community groups in the late 90's.
"Flowerpot Heads" are fun, easy to make, and a great hands-on way to experience the rich tradition of Southern Folk Pottery. The workshop is suitable for little folks and big folks alike. I make the pots on the potter's wheel and then I show you how to sculpt the face, or whatever imagery you choose, as you make your own one-of-a-kind flowerpot." -Mark Rigsby
