TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — An annual report from Niche.com has ranked Tuscaloosa Academy as the best private high school in Tuscaloosa County. In its 2021 installment, the ranking and review website used a range of metrics in determining the list, ultimately awarding Tuscaloosa Academy with an A+. In terms of overall diversity, The Capitol School finished atop the list with an A+, while Tuscaloosa Academy also nabbed the top spot for the best teachers in the county and college prep. While not all schools in the report included tuition figures, The Capitol School — by far the most exclusive with the smallest enrollment — leads the way for most expensive tuition by a wide margin, coming in at $31,726 for the highest grade offered, while American Christian Academy comes in as the cheapest at $6,080, along with being the largest in size. Statewide, Indian Springs School in Birmingham finished as the best private high school in Alabama.
