What we are looking for: a percussionist with a great attitude who loves to play. Playing a kit may be part of the gig but, since we are looking to be a trio, knowing when to play with a light touch is a must. Cajon, congas, djembe, bongos, could all be a great fit, we are open to try a myriad of different sounds. If you happen to have any singing ability that would be a huge plus and we’d be happy to throw you a mic as well, especially if you can do harmony/backing vocals.
Who we are: 2 long time musicians who started practicing songs together at the onset of Covid. We’ve now been rehearsing a set for 18 months and are anxious to play out. We just need the right person to round out our sound. We are just doing covers at this point, but we generally shoot for fun and/or challenging songs. We have a pretty mixed bag of song types and artists that we cover including Tom Petty, John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Darius Rucker, Johnny Cash, Sublime, Plain White T’s just to name a few.
We have all our own gear, guitars, amps, PA, etc… and are in process of putting together an act in order to book gigs. Just to be clear, getting paid is great, but that’s not our primary motivation. We love playing music and we want our third member to share that passion. We generally rehearse bi-weekly but are pretty flexible about dates and times because, ya know, jobs and families and such.
We like to have a good time, a little whiskey with rehearsal is usually a welcomed visitor.
