Description

I am sad to have to do this, so please only serious inquiries. I am looking to re-home my sweet, sweet lab mix to a good home. Who: Ben, a 2-3yo male rescue dog. Embark DNA results have shown he is 25% Black and Tan Coonhound, 20% Lab, 19% American Pit Bull Terrier, 19% American Bully, 6% German shepherd, 21% Mutt. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccines. He is medium-large size, mostly black fur with patches of white with black spots. He is crate-trained but behaves well and does not need to be crated when left for long periods of time. He is 100% potty-trained and has never had an accident. He also has never chewed anything that wasn't a toy of his. He is toy obsessed and 100% recommend BarkBox. He loves love and wants to be with you 24/7 but listens well when told to "go lay down". He knows most commands and listens very well. He has a sensitive stomach and eats Nutro Limited Ingredient diet. He is AMAZING with kids and has been around all ages and tolerates even toddlers pulling his tail and jumping on him. He does great with most dogs, but needs time with very dominant dogs (he has been attacked by two dogs since we have had him which has led to him being scared of very dominant dogs). I have had successful playdates with dominant dogs with the proper introductions. He doesn't bat an eye with smaller dogs at all. He usually leaves cats alone and has been around many without any issue. Why: We have had Ben for about 2 years now and we have discovered since that my 11yo son is highly allergic to dogs and cats. We have worked closely with the vet and allergist to determine ways to keep Ben in our home, but we have spent months exhausting all options and have been faced with this decision to re-home him. What: He will come with everything that I have for him. I believe I also have one more month of his flea/tick medicine and he has been vaccinated for heart worms (good for one year at a time). I work nightshift at the hospital so texts will be preferred. Let me know if you want to meet this sweet boy! My son and I are heartbroken to be in this situation and would prefer if we could still receive updates on how he is doing!!
