Fairwinds - Nantucket’s Counseling Center, welcomes Congressman Jamie Raskin for a community event to raise awareness about mental health. Raskin will speak to the need for mental health care and the reduction of stigma around mental illness. Congressman Raskin lost his son Tommy to suicide just days before he and his family found themselves amongst the violence in the U.S. Capitol when the insurrection took place. The impact of these events led Congressman Raskin to publish his memoir in Jan. 2022 titled: Unthinkable: Trauma Truth and the Trial of American Democracy, chronicling his efforts in trying to understand these two events.
