Do you have academic concerns regarding your child? Do you wish you knew how to better work with your child’s educational provider to ensure your child reaches his or her highest potential? In today's educational setting, students face the influence of social media and peer pressure like never before. Our students are burdened with more emotional, academic, and social stressors while trying to meet state standards and high-stakes test expectations. At Debra Mitchell Educational Consultant and Associates, Inc., we take great pride in providing you with guidance and resources from Pre-K – College. We are here to guide and help you move your child forward with expertise in IDEA and Section 504. We are a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3), which makes all services provided tax deductible. Our Expertise Debra Mitchell is the founder and lead educational consultant and specializes in working with students with disabilities from Pre-K – College. She is a parent of a child that has a 504. Debra has experience in providing accommodations for students with trauma both as a parent, teacher, and an Educational Administrator. She believes that proper identification of students' needs will lead to their best effort, given the tools to be successful, in collaboration with their current educational provider. Debra has over 20 years’ experience in working with students with disabilities and 14 of those years were as an administrator in a public school district. She served as a Student with Disability Specialist, Coordinator and Supervisor. It is known that Debra listens to parental concerns, speaks with the student, and reviews all educational records (and will request more if needed) to address all concerns and areas. She believes in accountability amongst all stakeholders, students, parents, and educational providers. In addition, she has served as a district contact for Section 504 and a Supervisor of Staffing. Debra supervised those who identify students under IDEA and Section 504, serving in both Regional and District wide positions. Debra Mitchell Educational Consultant and Associates, Inc. was established as a non-profit organization to help educate and empower families throughout the state of Florida. Debra Mitchell believes in giving back to the community and she is extremely passionate about all students being educated to their highest potential. We are offering a FREE Information session for the Tampa Bay Community in the East and North side of the county with a focus on awareness of how to work with your child’s school site.
