Shalom, Just wanted to introduce you to America. It's many things to many people. It's also a capitalist society where businesses do what they want and as long as it isn't illegal, the government has no control. aka Free Market Oil companies are free to drill as much as they want. They make the choice, not the president. If you like that, it's called socialism. They use it in places like Britain, Canada, Venezuela, and others. Any president who claims to control energy prices in a capitalist free market is lying. Now regarding your statement blaming POTUS for high gas prices allow me to also introduce you to capitalism at its best. The following is the response from oil executives when asked why they weren't drilling although there were plenty of oil leases available: As to why they weren't drilling more, oil executives blamed Wall Street. Nearly 60% cited "investor pressure to maintain capital discipline" as the primary reason oil companies weren't drilling more despite skyrocketing prices, according to the Dallas Fed survey. Mar 25, 2022 So yeah, they don't care. They're in it for the money. Oh and they all drive electric cars. And maybe it's time to note that *all* Americans - left, right, independent, etc. - are unhappy about gas prices. But POTUS has nothing to do with it. re:There is no such thing as a "Happy Republican" (petaluma) (san jose west) © craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap If you paid more attention you'd realize to varying degrees everyone feels the same way but for your own reasons you simply focus on Republicans because it serves the purpose of telling yourself you're better than they are which isn't true. Nowhere in history will you find a particular group of people without personal angst not even whichever one you are a part of. Your post would be interesting if you discussed a political policy issue you feel strongly about rather than your childish exercise trying to put Republicans down. For example, energy prices are high because our President made it his goal to shutdown oil & gas exploration and production because he wants the country to transition to renewables. This has cost each one of us a lot of money and we're nowhere near the transition he wants so we're made to suffer higher costs and less supply than we need to because of his wants. By the way the majority of Americans never asked for this transition. The fact of the matter is the entire world is nowhere near this transition's goal and making the average person suffer is untenable and cruel. This renewable energy goal is based on unproven science that relies on "conscience" by government paid for climatologists using unreliable computer models that are continually inaccurate in their predictions the overwhelming majority of times. Issues like this are what should be the kind of topics discussed not others personal moods or lack there of.
