The John Brown Wax Museum at 168 High St., Harpers Ferry, needs 2 or 3 permanent part-time employees. It involves 3 or 4 days a week (7 or 8 hour days, 10am - 4:30 or 5:30pm), it starts at $10 an hour (we try to have a 2% raise yearly if the employee plans to return for next season) but no other benefits. This season, we are open every day (except Thanksgiving) until December (we may be open the first 2 weekends in December, TBD). You probably will be working every other weekend depending on the work schedule that you and the other new employees work out among each other. If there is an issue with agreement, I will step in and make a schedule. Obviously, it's not hard work, for the most part, the employee would be taking admission fees and selling some souvenirs. The employee would handle cash, change, use credit card terminal, keep a record of customers, send accounting information via email and meet a lot of interesting customers. There is some light cleaning, getting change (cash), if necessary, at the beginning of the day, and you will be responsible for dropping off the cash and checks collected for that day at the local Bank of Charles Town that evening.
