Logic models are a great tool in the grant professional’s toolbox for program planning! However, many grant professionals are confused by logic model terminology and the overall logic model framework. Furthering this confusion is the fact that different logic models utilize contradicting terminology. This session demystifies logic models by clarifying logic model terminology, the appropriate use of logic models, and how to utilize logic models to give organizations a means for evaluating its program’s effectiveness. Participants will learn that, when used properly, logic models can be the grant professional’s #1 tool for program planning! Learning Objectives: 1. Accurately articulate common logic model terminology. 2. Determine the appropriate uses of the logic model framework. 3. Conduct effective program planning by utilizing the logic model framework. ABOUT Andrea Hoff, MPA, GPC, OCPC, ICPS Andrea Hoff is the Owner & President of You Thrive Training & Consulting, LLC, a company that provides training and consulting services in the areas of behavioral health prevention, government and nonprofit leadership, and fundraising. Andrea has worked in the behavioral health field for over 27 years, is certified in the State of Ohio as a behavioral health prevention consultant (OCPC) and international behavioral health prevention specialist (ICPS). Andrea is also a certified grants professional with over 20 years of experience in grant seeking and writing. Prior to leaving the nonprofit world, she worked as the Vice President of Grants Administration & Quality Assurance, giving her experience in both grants management and program evaluations. For over 13 years, she worked for local governmental funding agencies that award public funds to local health and human services agencies and organizations. Andrea’s unique background gives her the ability to speak from the perspective of both the grant seeker and the grant maker. Andrea is also the Immediate Past President of the Grant Professionals Association of the Miami Valley, Ohio Chapter and holds a Grant Professional Certification (GPC).
