Description
Our walk leader Courtney Lee will take us along the hidden gem of the Bernal Cut Path, up to the top of Bernal Heights Park, and then to Alemany Farm. We'll explore the farm and learn about their education, volunteer, and food security programs. Special Bonus! Nature in the City will provide drinks and nibbles once we get to Alemany Farm. Feel free to hang out, explore, and hang out with your fellow trekkers. You will be on your own to leave from there... either a 15 minute walk back to the starting location, or take public transportation from the farm. COVID Guidelines: Nature in the City is following the current San Francisco guidelines, including on group size and masking. Please wear a mask if you consider yourself a vulnerable member of the community.Walk Leaders: Courtney Lee Courtney is a local nature enthusiast and volunteer walking guide. A native of San Francisco, Courtney has walked a lot of the city and is always learning and sharing about its ever changing neighborhoods and the natural spaces around. Details: Moderate difficulty and mixed terrain with some uphill segments. The walk will be approx 2.5 miles with an elevation gain of 250 feet. NTC will provide nibbles and drinks (adult and non-alcoholic beverages) once we get to Alemany Farm. Preparation: Minimal preparation - bring walking shoes, layers, and water. If you plan to hang out at Alemany Farm and are sensitive to mosquito bites, you may want to bring some repellent. Meeting Location: Meet in the plaza of the Bernal Cut Path, at approx 85 College Ave. Transportation: Muni service to the site includes the 49 bus. Parking is available in the area. Cost: This walk is FREE to attend (with RSVPs kindly requested). Donations (in cash) can be made to Nature in the City on the day of the event. Special bonus!
