Does anyone have goats in Livermore?

We recently moved to Livermore and we love it here. Our youngest son (9) found two goats at some school near Sunset park. He visits them daily and brings two organic carrots for each one of them. This has been going on for three months. It's incredible to watch how excited they get when they see him running to them from far away. This made me think that perhaps we could move to a semi-rural area and have our own goats. I noticed streets like Marina and Buena Vista have some homes with animals. Does anyone know what are the city requirements to own goats and chickens? How much land do we need to have? We currently have a 6,200 sq.ft. lot which is not suitable even for chickens.
