Description

CathARTic is more than merely a festival. It is a healing space created with intention and attention to the unique wellness needs of the Black community. We have curated this experience to offer practices and resources that support your overall health with an emphasis on Black mental health and wellness. In recognition of July as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Month, we are providing yoga, meditation and art as powerful practices to care for your body, your spirit and your mind. We will provide a variety of yoga and movement classes that are accessible to all body types, ages and fitness levels. The art activities are designed to calm your mind and nurture your emotions. Bring your entire family to enjoy a day of yoga, meditation, mindfulness and art activities. No cost to attend but registration is required. July Is Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month (also known as BIPOC Mental Health Month). Formally recongnized in 2008, this month is used to heighten awareness of the unique struggles that underrepresented groups face in regard to mental illness in the US. To continue the visionary work of Bebe Moore Campbell, each year Mental Health America (MHA) develops a public education campaign dedicated to addressing the mental health needs of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). The 2022 theme is "#Beyond the Numbers."
