Crosstown Connection aims to connect Mornigside residents with the rest of the world by amplifying existing neighboring resources as well as introducing new community tech hubs. We believe that technology is more than just electronics but any tool that helps make life easier. We wanted to be sure to create free opportunities to engage the youth of the community as well. Thus, introducing our Young Maker Series. To kick off our Summer Young Maker Series we will be hosting a book making workshop in collaboration with Black Art Library. The event will take place at the Jefferson Branch of the Detroit Public Library located at 12350 East Outer Dr. Inside the community room, kids ages 7 and up will gather to illustrate and bind custom books to take home. The workshop will be facilitated by Asmaa of Black Art Library. She will walk attendees through story telling and building upon narratives.
