Update - We've found homes for 4 of the 8 puppies, but still have 2 girls and 2 boys. These pictures were taken just a couple days ago and the photos on the chair represent the tone/coloring of the puppies. The photos in front of the shrub make the pups look lighter than they are. Wolfy and 2 Paw are females, Blaze and 1 Paw are males. We're looking to rehome a litter of puppies from our male American Akita and our female Lab/Hound mix. They were born May 24th, will be available to go to their new homes by July 20th. The litter was 8 healthy puppies, split evenly between boys and girls. Most of the pups seem to have more of the Akita traits physically but they're still changing and developing every day. The pups are in a large outdoor enclosure getting plenty of food, fresh air and play time. They're all being raised with daily visits from our toddler. Dad: This is the third Akita we've had over the last couple decades. He has a lot of the sweet/mellow/aloof Akita traits but he isn't overly protective of the house or dominant with new dogs. He's a little less stoic and more "dog-like" than the other Akitas we've had. He's about 10 months old now so he's still developing but is a complete sweetheart and is great with our 2 year old. Mom: We got this dog after we lost one of our older Akitas last year. She was put up for adoption by a family who got her then quickly realized they were in over their heads. They told me she's 100% Labrador but obviously she isn't. She kind of looks like a Hound/Doberman/Lab mix. She is sweet and intelligent but has huge stamina. She's a good dog who is sweet with everyone and never runs out of energy. She's just over a year old and this litter came from her second heat. We're asking a small rehoming fee and the pups will come with their first round of shots and a care package. Email if interested or with any questions.
