SEEKING SAX PLAYER NO SAPRANOS ONLY TENOR OR ALTO Seeking hooks and tasty solos; diatonic to harmonic hell Coltrane. Ray Warleigh, Ian Macdonald, Dick Morrissey, Dave Sanborn, Wayne Shorter, Coltrane. Please Note: We are not interested in reading fake books and playing "standards" or any other covers. Perhaps we could pull-out "Careless Whisper" or "Baker Street" for nostalgic grins, but definitely not the same old tired "standards". I would definitely consider Brubeck's "Take Five", but this is not a cover band. We are seeking a truly *creative* saxophonist hopefully with knowledge of scales, modes, key signatures and more, who can compose and collaborate composing original melodies/hooks, and improvise their own fill-ins, reply licks, unison and harmony with keys and/or guitar, and solos. This is a chance for a creative saxophonist to shine. I am a very experienced composer/songwriter thoroughly educated in music and always studying and aware of form. So far we are guitar piano bass drums.
