Description
We have a 3 year old Great Dane / German Shepherd
that is a large, smart, potty trained and loyal. She's a tall and
dignified lady, topping out at 85 pounds. Her name is
Kona and we love her. Unfortunately, as she's grown
older, she is becoming more anxious in our home. We
discussed her behaviors with a vet and they've told us
she's perfectly healthy and as a young adult she's
more and more unhappy around children and other
dog in our home, apparently she is a lady who needs
her own space.
Kona does great at the dog park with dogs of all sizes.
She goes for ice cream with us and walks in the park,
around all walks of life just fine. It's in our home in the
evening that she paces and can't relax. We have been
dragging our feet in hopes we could keep the children
respecting her space (they have) but it's not been
enough to truly help her.
She's got a large fenced in back yard she plays in
daily, she's primarily an indoor dog, and in the evening
she has a crate with the door always open if she wants
space. The vet and we agree she would be a great
companion for anyone without children and other
dogs. Preferably a fenced in back yard so she can run. She loves to run fast. Dog parks are her favorite.
It's heartbreaking to think of taking her to a shelter
with over crowding right now. And, while every rescue
I've reached out to hasn't responded in months, would
appreciate any direct contact information. We are
shattered and never imagined we would have to
rehome Kona, but truly know it would be in her best
interest to find a quieter home for our big girl.
Small rehoming fee. She comes with her crate leash and toys. Email or text if interested
