The “Pathways to Hope” conference, part of NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, FaithNet programs, aims to bring individuals, faith communities, providers, NAMI members and other behavioral health stakeholders together to reduce the stigma of mental illness. We aspire to activate and engage communities at the grassroots level to provide support for people impacted by mental health issues; and help people find local resources for better mental health care. The conference will be held August 26-27, 2022, and hosted by NAMI Pinellas County. PRE-REGISTER NOW- https://nami.org/Get-Involved/NAMI-FaithNet/Pathways-to-Hope DAY ONE: We will live stream NAMI National’s morning plenary sessions featuring Dr. Vivek H. Murthy, Surgeon General of the United States, Dr. Thomas Insel, Co-founder, and President of Mindstrong Health, psychiatrist and neuroscientist, former Director of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), and Rev Veron Blue. Immediately following the morning plenary sessions, we will host an awards lunch to honor mental health champions in our community, followed in the afternoon by local workshops and sessions led by local subject matter experts in five different topic areas. We will end our first day with a Documentary and panel discussion. DAY TWO: We will feature morning plenary sessions live streamed with the HEB Center for Mental Health Faith Director and Dr. Thema Bryant (the incoming President-elect of the American Psychological Association, psychologist, professor at Pepperdine University, and author of Home Coming: Overcome Fear and Trauma to Reclaim Your Whole, Authentic Self. Lunch will be followed by local workshops and sessions led by local subject matter experts in five different topic areas.
