What the world needs is more pie! Celebrate summer fruit season by learning how to make a classic cherry pie with a beautifully woven lattice top. Food writer and chef-instructor Shawnie Kelley will walk you through the process of making a perfect buttery crust and a balanced sweet and sour filling. You will learn to weave a lattice top crust and get creative with crust decorations. We’ll discuss which cherry varieties are best for baking and understand the differences between butter and lard crusts. While the pies are baking, each team will enjoy a summery drink and make a homemade pie crust to take home along with their baked pie. This class runs for about two and a half hours.
