Description

With the rise in anti-Asian hate, the isolation from COVID-19, and the perpetual foreigner stereotype for the AANHPI (Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander) population, there is an increased need in cultivating and improving the mental wellness of our communities. AANHPI communities often hold a negative stigma of mental health, and dissuade help-seeking behavior. Building Community Resilience: AAPI Mental Wellness Summit aims to tackle the taboo of mental illness, increase education regarding mental wellness, and promote resources for AANHPI community members and the wider public. ------------------------------ Tentative Schedule: 9:00 AM Check-In 9:15 AM Education Mental Health Workshops [1 hour] 10:30 AM Whole- Body Wellness Workshops [1 hour] 11:30 AM Lunch & Resource Fair [1 hour] 12:30 PM Educational Mental Health Workshops [1 hour] 1:45 PM Whole-Body Wellness Workshops [1 hour] 2:45 PM Closing *Lunch is provided, and registration is free.
