Description
Our farm started back on our old property in Walpole, on July 15 2019. That first summer and autumn on the farm was spent clearing our space of wildly invasive knotweed, repairing tons of fence and the hoop house (which would then break again over and over), raising our first trio of ducklings (all still with us!), and learning from every farm and farming event that would have us. Our "business" started the following spring, with the Hingham Farmers Markets welcoming us and constantly adapting to the strange world of Spring 2020. We have come so far since then, but always want to celebrate our successes as well as our learnings from failures, and the work we have all put in together. We will be having a little party on the farm, to come together as a community to celebrate all we've done so far and enjoy some of our delicious local food prepared by the farm team -- of foodies, professional chefs, and catering business owners, so you know it's going to be good! Activities include: Farm tours throughout the eventMeeting the farm animals, with photo opsLunch! And birthday cake! And cotton candy!RafflesMore?Registration We are recommending a $25 per person (over 12 -- young kids are welcome and do not need to be registered) registration, because some parts of having this event cost money. However, we value members of our community who are not able to contribute this much, and have made this event a "pay what you can" model. If anyone would like to contribute more to help cover others who can't, that is quite appreciated! There is ample off-street parking, and good space to spread out on the farm to not be too crowded in with folks. Birthday Gifts Absolutely not required, but if you'd like to add to the birthday vibe with a farm birthday gift, any of these would be great: Grab something from our farm's Amazon wishlistWe always need materials for building things: Scrap wood and plywood, fencing materials, zip ties, T or U posts, pallets, hinges, windows, etc.The farm animals love snacks! The sheep eat a lot of hay, and then on more fun notes, apples, pumpkins, watermelon, leafy greens, and grains are enjoyed by all on the farm.Share photos of what you've made with our foodLeave us a review on Facebook or other optionsVolunteer on the farm with a friend or two (email us!)Come see us at the Hingham or Hanover farmers market, especially if you've never been!Questions?
