Francisco, el Hombre w/ Dulce MelodramaThe Pour House Music Hall & Record ShopAges 21+ FRANCISCO, EL HOMBRE: "We are the borders I have crossed", says the lyrics of the song named "Francisco, el Hombre", from the band of the same name, Francisco, el Hombre. The sentence is what best describes the group, formed by the Mexican brothers Mateo Piracés Ugarte and Sebastianismos, LAZÚLI, Andrei Kozyreff and Helena Papini. That is because the quintet finds their inspiration on the road. But not only there. The portuguese-spanish lyrics have made the band a fundamental piece for the cultural connection in Latin America. Their live performances make the Portuguese speaking audience sing in Spanish, and the Spanish speaking audience sing in Portuguese. The band believes there is no border that cannot be crossed. Their first album, "Soltasbruxa", released in 2016 presented their evolution as a band. The band's second album, "Rasgacabeza", released in 2019, brings lyrics that talk about the current social and political moment in Brazil: "Instead of going timeless on this new album, we decided to face what is happening now. Politics is part of who we are," says Sebastianismos, drum player and singer of Francisco, el Hombre. “You have to lose yourself to find yourself” is a passage from one of the poems by the Uruguayan author Eduardo Galeano that synthesizes the processes that were unleashed in “Casa Francisco”, Francisco's third album, released in October 2021 (listen here). In 2021, resigning the negative tone of loss, the members sought to lose themselves in new sounds and solo projects in the past few years in order to find themselves again as a band. It is thus, free of individual anxieties and frustrations, that the band produced “Casa Francisco”. In a spectacle of rhythmic explosions, Francisco, el Hombre has performed more than 700 concerts in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Spain and Portugal, and was part of important festivals all over the word such as Rock in Rio, Lollapalooza and Vive Latino.
