Bingham Foundation of Hope (BFH) invites you to their 2022 Inaugural Summer Showdown Dodgeball Tournament for charity. For this year's tournament, BFH is donating tournament proceeds to Everybody Wins - Atlanta; a non-profit dedicated to improving the literacy of children. Food Trucks and Live DJing will be on location. Free Parking. Free Attendance for the Public. Security will be provided by local law enforcement. All tournament players MUST sign waivers at the beginning of the tournament. Medical personnel will be on site. Prize for Winning Team: EACH player on the winning team will receive $500 Cash. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RULES OF THE TOURNAMENT: - Each team must have five (5) players and may have up to two (2) alternates. - Each round will be the best of three (3) games. GAME RULES (will be posted at tournament): - Team will have no more or no less than five (5) players on the court at the beginning of each game. - Each game will have a time limit of three (3) minutes. At the end of three (3) minutes, the team with the most players on the court wins. - Balls will start on the mid-line of each game. - Players who step on or across any boundary line, including the mid-line, will be out. - Players who are hit by a ball thrown by the opposing team are out unless: - the ball is caught before hitting the ground, - the thrown ball is deemed an intentional head shot, - the thrown ball has hit another player first. - A player who throws the ball resulting in a head shot is out unless the opposing player is ducking to avoid the ball, in which the player being hit is out. - In order to keep the game moving, if a team has all balls on their side, they have five (5) seconds (as counted out loud by a referee) to throw one of the balls. If the team does not discard the ball within five (5) seconds, the charging referee will call one of the players out. - If a player catches a thrown ball before it hits the ground, one of their eliminated teammates may return to the court, and the opposing player who threw the ball is out. - Players may use a ball to block oncoming balls, but if they lose control of the ball they are holding and drop it, they are out. - Players may not physically touch any opposing player or referee. This will result in the player being terminated from the tournament and removed from the facility. YELLOW CARD VIOLATIONS: - Players may not argue with the referees decisions. - Players may not spike the balls. - Players may not kick the balls. - Players may not hold more than one ball at a time. - Bad sportsmanship will result in a yellow card as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Players signing up for Single Player Admission will be grouped accordingly. Only Tennis/Gym Shoes are allowed on the gym floor. Teams/Players are responsible for their own uniforms. Teams are responsible for their own Team Name. Event Coordinators will be in contact leading up to the event to collect Team/Player Information for the tournament. Participants of the tournament must be18 years or older.
