Roofer Job Description We are hiring a talented Roofer professional to join our team Responsibilities for Roofer • Transport and load/unload roofing materials in truck • Lay new roofing materials such as asphalt, wood, steel and plastics • Inspect roofing for damage and perform any needed repairs • Spray treatment chemicals on roofs and buildings to seal them from water and weather • Clean rooftops by removing leaves, ice and other debris • Install insulation materials underneath roofs • Use hand tools such as hammers, electric staplers and electric spraying tools • Install solar panels on roofs Qualifications for Roofer • High school education or GED • Construction safety certification such as OSHA training is a plus • Physical fitness level that will allow for quick movement, climbing, bending and lifting heavy loads • Previous experience in roofing, construction or related scope of work • Communication and teamwork skills including an openness to receiving feedback from superiors • General knowledge of roofing procedures, techniques and specialties • Strong work ethic and desire to perform quality work • Ability to read and follow instructions from blueprints, drawings and diagrams • Endurance to spend hours working in extreme weather conditions such as heat or cold
