Description
We are a guitarist and a drummer, who are seeking musicians to form a group. We are both over 50 years old, have been playing our instruments a long time, but would not consider ourselves “professional” musicians. Both of us are retired businessmen, originally from the mid-west. Q: Age requirements? A: Over 50, preferably retired, but if not, has the time to commit. Q: Who is needed? A: Lead singer and bass player. And perhaps keyboard. Singer may or may not play an instrument - we are very flexible on this. Q: Level of music expertise? A: Not professional, but competent, and still willing to learn from others. Q: Will the sessions be in Carefree? A: Yes, although at some later date, we may opt for practice space south of Carefree. Q: Serious people only? A: Yes. Although we are primarily doing this for the love of making music, we would only want musicians who are serious about this endeavor, and want to show up to play. Q: Costs? A: The obvious personal equipment, travel, etc. If we do eventually get practice space, you will be responsible to your share of the expense. Q: Personal attributes? A: Level headed people, who are courteous. Q; Gigging? A: We are ambivalent about gigs. As it stands now, we don’t envision booking a lot of gigs, certainly not right way. In the future? - once or twice a month max. For us it is not about making money, it’s about playing good music. Q: Objective? A: The shared experience of playing music in a group, because practicing by ones self is fine, yet not that fulfilling. Q: What will be the type of music played? A: Although both of us have our preferences in 60’s and 70’s rock, blues and soul, we would like the other members to bring their influences to the table. This will be collaborative effort, although we would shy away from trying to learn a member’s original composition. Q: Politics? A: At each practice, there will be exactly zero minutes devoted to talking about politics. If you are interested, please respond to this post, and tell us about yourself. Thank you.
