why go after law abiding gun owners?

Why make gun laws tougher for law abiding citizens? People think if we take all the guns away from the people that have them, it will make the world safer. They are dead wrong. The government has laws on the books if they arrest someone who has a gun in his possesion and if that person is not alowed to have that gun they are suppose to automaticlly get 5 or 10 yrs. in prison. Well the government lets them out of jail and does not inforce the laws. I have read in the paper that certin felons where arrested for possesion of an illegal gun. This was their 2nd or 3rd time arrested for the same thing. This should not happen. Arrest the bad guys and send them to prison for a long time. The only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun commiting a crime is a good guy with a gun. I would be all for giving up my guns if the government can guarantee my safety. Should I get killed or hurt, then we should be able to sue the government for millions of dollars. What if the government takes my guns and then takes my rights away. People need to be able to fight back if the government decides to remove our rights. Maybe we should take guns away from law enforcement and issue them whistles. We all know this will never happen. We live in a world of violence. People need to be able to protect themselves when no one else will.
