Florida Rural Legal Services (FRLS) has partnered with county officials to disperse financial aid for renter assistance. FRLS is helping eligible residents receive as much as 12 months' worth of rent payments to pay overdue bills dating back to March 13, 2020. Up to $12,000 in assistance can be provided. The program is designed to directly pay landlords, property management and utility companies - including electricity, gas, water and Internet - on behalf of qualifying Polk County residents.
