Join us for a Retirement Celebration for Lizzie Watts, the First Superintendent of America's Newest National Park, the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve! We will be celebrating Lizzie's awesome career and her dedication to the National Park Service and especially her dedication to and love of the New River Gorge. The celebration will be held on Friday, August 12th, beginning at 6:00 p.m., at the Historic Black Knight Country Club in Beckley, WV. Hors d'oeuvres will be served and a Cash Bar will be available.Any additional proceeds from the event will be donated to the "Friends of New River Gorge National Park and Preserve". Most every U.S. National Park enjoys the alliance of a non-profit corporation established to increase public awareness and manage charitable programs. "Friends of the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve" is the foundation allied with the national park units that protect the New, Gauley and Bluestone Rivers.
