Description
We truly look forward to you joining us as we learn from our amazing speakers on how to navigate a critical incident as Officers and Law Enforcement Families. We will listen Teresa Kondek share her experience of the loss of her husband, Tarpon Springs Police Officer, Charlie Kondek, Jr, who was killed in the line of duty, December 21, 2014. Teresa, a mother of 5, has become a writer and advocate for Law Enforcement and their families and is dedicated to helping others who face similar tragedies. We have so much to learn from Charlie’s sacrifice and we know you will hear that as Teresa shares their life, their tragedy and their resiliency in overcoming such a loss. We will also hear Charles and Kelli Lowe as they teach the husband and wife side of a critical incident. We will learn as they share their experience after Charles was ambushed and shot during an extra duty job. Charles is a Sergeant with the St. Louis Police Department and he is the founder of Project Hurt. Kelli is a fierce advocate amd teacher and she is the President of NPWA. Their story of survival, Kelli’s leadership, and Charles’s work with Project Hurt, which helps heal, uplift, restore and transition officers and their families after experiencing a line of duty critical incident, will be inspiring. Their combined work has helped countless Law Enforcement and their families survive and thrive. We will listen to Lieutenant Christy Lomanoco, who oversees the Investigations Division and is Commander for the Special Incident Response Team (S.I.R.T) with the Largo Police Department as she shares the importance of peer and family support and how that can and should exist in every agency. She will tell us how she worked hard to create and now coordinate the Wellness Team for LPD. She is a fierce advocate for officer wellness, resiliency and peer support and she works alongside many other agencies and organizations to make sure valuable resources are available for Law Enforcement and their families.
