ArtPark Al Fresco Family Nights: Graffiti Needlepoint

Taking inspiration from some of our favorite graffiti walls and fonts we’ll create our own tiny masterpieces on fabric with sewn embellishments. Denver muralist and artist Wiser Oner will be on hand talking about all the unique ways you can take wild style art into other projects from tattoos to car wraps and woodworking. This July and August we'll be getting outside to make a host of unconventional and totally cool interactive objects together, from building art cars to making needlepoint graffiti. Workshops are free with all supplies included, but you will need to pre-register. Kids, teens and their adult friends are all encouraged to participate with individual and group projects. Pets welcome, and snacks and drinks will be available if you don't want to bring your own! About the instructor: Arts educator Shawn Bowman specializes in renegade art education creating humorous modern artifacts, workshop instruction and game design. Passionate about enabling creative communities, Bowman empowers students both young and old with hands on craft projects, literacy through comic writing and creating table top games.
