Tractor Mechanic Full Job Description We are looking for a team member who: Can be at work and on time every day Have a great attitude and willingness to learn Can be flexible as schedules will change depending on weather and season Takes great care of company vehicles and equipment Is respectful of co-workers and clients Has a great work ethic and can work alone without supervision Stays off the phone except for business calls and emergencies Has a working knowledge of Automotive and Small Engines. Can document all working hours as well as materials used on a daily basis The Small Engine Mechanic is responsible for: Maintaining equipment, safely and effectively. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance as well as repairs to company equipment in order to ensure that the equipment is available, reliable, and safe to operate. Advise the Operations Manager of required major repairs or replacements to equipment. Maintain safe and clean working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations Assist with administrative duties related to building maintenance as needed (Equipment may include but is not limited to: zero-turn mowers, tractors, trucks, trailers, and other small and large engine equipment.) Other duties include but are not limited to: Assist in preparing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules Assist in maintaining inventory control over equipment and supplies Maintain maintenance and repairs logs and records Maintain maintenance computer systems MUST HAVE OWN TOOLS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Sound mechanical knowledge Knowledge of procedures for the repair and maintenance of a wide range of equipment Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance schedules and programs Knowledge of when to contact other trades-persons or professionals to complete a task or repair Knowledge of equipment inspection procedures Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures Knowledge of record-keeping systems and basic computer knowledge Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications Minimum Qualifications Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record in good standing. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications and skills.
