Come to Orchard Heights to learn alongside your community about conservation efforts at the park. This event, sponsored by the Polk Soil and Water Conservation District will feature presenters from the Public Works Department at the City of Salem and the Glenn Gibson Watershed Council. Glenn Creek runs through Orchard Heights and provides a home to fish, beavers, plants, trees and more! Learn about the restoration work happening in your watershed, which makes a positive impact on our environment. Did you know that there are over 500 species of bees in Oregon?! Come to hear about the pollinator garden at Orchard Heights and how you can help our local pollinators. We will also go on a plant walk and learn about the native and invasive plants there. Find out how you can incorporate native plants into your own yard and remove invasives. Learn how you can support conservation in your own backyard! When: Wednesday, July 13th, 10am-12pm (please arrive early to check out our resources) • 10am-11am – Glenn Creek • 11am-12pm – Pollinator Garden and Plant Walk Where: Orchard Heights Park 1165 Orchard Heights Rd NW, Salem, OR 97304, check in near the basketball court. Those that are registered will go home with a native seed packet for pollinators.
