Description

Want to start making your own herbal medicine? One of the most common herbal preparations is a tincture, which is most commonly defined as an alcohol-based extraction of a plant. In this class we will go in depth about what makes a tincture, how to figure out dosages, which plants you should and should not tincture, who shouldn’t take a tincture, and more! We will be preparing fresh plant tinctures in two methods: the folk method and the calculation method. This is a great class for absolute beginners who are ready to start getting hands on experience making their own herbal concoctions. What we learn in this class will set up a great foundation for any budding herbalist to explore herbal knowledge and craft. Frankie Almutawa (she/they) is an herbalist and employee at The Herb Shoppe. Her goal is to get more people interested in herbalism as a means to reconnect with land and plants, an act of remembrance for the human tradition. She teaches classes, makes zines, and provides herbal consultations. You can keep up with her on instagram @pastushkaherbals. *Please note that this event is offered in person of up to 6 people and virtually.*
