Blazing Soul, Funk, and Rock with a wall of horns is how one could try to describe The Soul Juice Band. However, a "song writing" band is how they would describe themselves. The crowds who see the band live are treated to a sound experience that is unique and powerful enough to carry them on a journey unmatched in the industry today. The band combines 5 killer horns, a screaming B3 Hammond organ, heavy guitar riffs and a gritty, soulful singer in creating a dynamic fusion that is unique to many listeners' ears. After releasing their single "Brown" against racism worldwide, the band has released their first, self-titled 10 song album which will be preceded by the singles "Brand New Day," "Julio Jones," and "Still Beautiful to Me" all of which will be part of the 3:00pm July 3rd concert at the Madrid Theatre in Canoga Park, Los Angeles. If you like groovy funky fun this is the show for you! ‍Whether laying down their funky, soulful originals or blowing the crowd away with their skillfully arranged covers for 5 horns, this is one band you have to see live to believe. The band is made up of gritty, lead vocalist Dave Tatlock, keyboardist/band leader David Rogers, guitarist Joe Bonasorte, bass player Alan Butterfield and drummer Jared Leaper Two trumpet players, Lance Aguirre and Isaac Tubb; trombone player, Kevin Mullinax; Bari sax player Justin Marquis; and tenor sax player Mark McArthur round out the band and help create the original horn sound of this fantastic assemble. Most importantly though, is their passion for community and willingness to give back to the musicians of tomorrow, and lucky for us, they are looking to make an impression in Canoga Park. Through the Department of Cultural Affairs' Performing Arts Madrid Theatre Cultural Hub program, David Tatlock and David Rogers have been in Canoga Park all week ready to share their experience and knowledge in composing songs, infusing humanity into music created, and developing as individual musicians with a unique voice. They have also been holding rehearsals to prepare youth to play live at the concert this Sunday. Please help us welcome The Soul Juice Band to Canoga Park by attending their first concert in Canoga Park at the Madrid Theatre Sunday, July 3rd at 3:00pm. Together we have the power to welcome this band and voice our desire to have them return next year to contribute to the success of music education in Canoga Park.
