Brought to you by Infinity Mental Health:Description: Come see, feel, play, and learn about the equine assisted learning model.
(It’s creative, dynamic, out-of-doors and in real-time!)
Why Horses? (They’re highly attuned, non-judgemental, immediate and honest with feedback, social, and have range in moods and personalities - just like people.)
How does it work? (We weave a skill or theme into an activity and allow the participant(s) to explore with the horse’s responses.)
Why does it work? (Horses are quite noticeable with their presence and body language . . . and the learn-by-doing component is both powerful and memorable.)
Who might benefit? (Children, teens, adults, couples and families . . .particularly those who might be more comfortable projecting their feelings onto a horse, rather than talking about themselves.)
This is an interactive Learning Lab presentation held in-person, out-of-doors and under-cover at Hudson Valley HorsePlay, Kerhonkson. Together with our herd of 7 colleagues, we’ll meet, greet, interact and experiment with this unique approach to personal growth and development.
Learning Objectives: Participants will deepen their understanding of the equine-assisted model and how it differs from equine assisted psychotherapy
Participants will see and experience how particular social / emotional skills can be explored and practiced safely with horses
Participants will learn how social / emotional skills learned with horses can be applied to relationship skills with self and other humans.
Participants will have an additional resource they can offer their clients in support of their journey
