Essential Functions: Under the supervision of the Facilities Director, the Facilities Maintenance Staff has direct responsibilities for the overall appearance and maintenance of the building and grounds of the Boroughs Family Branch. Know How: The Facilities Maintainer position performs maintenance as assigned by the Facilities Director. In the absence of the Facilities Director, this position will be the primary backup staff member to the Facilities Director. Principle Activities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Assess the proper mechanical operation of pools, equipment and facilities upon arrival. 2. Assume secondary responsibility to monitor, troubleshoot and repair, as needed, all HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems of the branch and related facilities. 3. Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner. 4. In the absence of the Facilities Director, oversees all contractors that work in the facility and on the YMCA grounds. 5. Assist with snow removal, lawn care and general cleaning and maintenance activities. 6. Ensure proper working order of equipment within facility and keep standard inventory of necessary repair items required in the facility at all times. 7. Complete task list established by Facilities Director. 8. Follow all safety regulations in accordance with OSHA and all other industry guidelines and procedures. 9. Daily communication with supervisor and Branch team regarding status of all custodial and maintenance projects. 10. Ensures the highest standard of safety for themselves and their staff at all times. Follow all safety regulations in accordance with OSHA and all other industrial safety guidelines and procedures. 11. Ensures that assigned vehicles (and other equipment) are maintained and operated in accordance with YMCA, local and state policies and regulations. 12. Flex schedule to match the changing needs of the Branch Facility. 13. Participates in staff meetings and other Branch and Association meetings are required. 14. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: · The Facilities Maintenance Staff must have a High School diploma and related experience in mechanical repairs and custodial procedures or equivalent training. · This position requires the ability to maintain, troubleshoot and/or repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, grounds keeping, pool maintenance and chemical control. · Should be able to follow direction, work under minimal supervision, and follow a timetable and complete assignments as prescribed by the Facilities Director. · This position requires a working knowledge and practice of the highest safety standards in all areas of responsibility. · CPR, First Aid, and AED, training within 30 days of employment · Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community · Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards SCHEDULE: 40 hours weekly position. Monday-Friday from 9am-6pm.
