I am reaching out here because I recently had to resign from my position as a Zookeeper at the El Paso Zoo after a bad experience with caregivers on care.com and our local daycare center. The recurring sitters on Care ended up no-showing me several times, so we enrolled our daughter at a local care center. This particular center failed to pick her up from school one day and didn't notify me, now they're recently they're facing criminal child neglect charges after leaving a child on the daycare van when they fell asleep on the way to the center from the school. Due to these incidents and lack of other centers that pick up from her school, I have been forced to resign from my position and am staying home with my seven year old daughter. Child safety is of utmost importance and it is so hard to find someone reliable that you can trust with your children.
