Texas Meter & Device is hiring for a full time Gas Retrofit technician (meter technician) in the Greater Tacoma area. WE WILL TRAIN YOU. Training pay is $20/hour. After training, base pay is $20/hr - in addition there is incentive pay based on production that will allow technicians to make up to $30.00/hour. Training will start immediately after completion of all background checks, driving records, and drug screenings. After successful completion of 1 to 2 weeks of training, pay will be hourly plus incentive pay based on production.Technicians will earn $160-250 or more/day with ****no limit on incentive pay**** Interviews will be conducted very soon. Generally, the position will be full-time, approximately 8 hours/day; however, there may be overtime required at times. The project is a multi-year project and for those candidates that join the team and perfect their skills, there could be additional opportunities with the company. Under the general direction of the Program Manager and/or Field Supervisor, the Gas Retrofit Technician will be installing gas modules, mostly residential class. TMD will train you. Responsibilities include: *Will retrofit a gas module to the existing gas register on residential and commercial class gas meters *Use a work order management system to capture and enter site data *Maintain accurate records of work completed *Oversee the materials, equipment, vehicle and tools; Operate company vehicle in a safe manner *Keep track of new and used inventory *Proper use of an Hand-Held Device (HHD) to collect new meter data *Manages daily client communications, data and reporting *Coordinates scheduling and meets quality / quantity requirements *Provide courteous and excellent internal and external customer service *Other duties and tasks as assigned or necessary Requirements: *Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record as technicians will drive company vehicles for routes each day *Must be a minimum of 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years of (personal or professional) driving experience due to insurance requirements *Must have work boots *Must have own personal Smart phone *Additional Requirements: Background check clearance including drug screening and I-9 documentation as required by law *Mechanical aptitude is necessary *Ability to use hand held device and other equipment as required for the position *Ability to work with minimal supervision *Ability to stand on feet, bend or stoop for a prolonged period of time. The work is performed outdoors and through inclement weather as necessary *Ability to carry out duties in a safe and efficient manner *Stable Multi-year Work History *Attention to Detail *Dependability and Reliability *Good Communication Skills (speaking, reading and writing) Shift and Pay Info: Training rate is $20.00/hr. After training, base pay is $20/hr - in addition there is incentive pay based on production that will allow technicians to make up to $30.00/hour or more. Technicians have the ability to make $160-$250/day or more based on production. There is NO CAP/LIMIT on incentive pay. Monday – Friday, with possible Saturday work required at times - some overnight travel required at times Work hours are 8 hours between 7am – 5pm…Typically 7:00am to 4:00pm with 1 hour lunch or 7am - 3:30 pm with a half hour lunch EOE
