The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine invite you to join workshop participants and members of the consensus committee for the Managed Retreat in the U.S. Gulf Coast Region study’s second regional workshop. The second workshop will be held on July 12, 2022, from 9:30 am to 4:45 pm, in St. Petersburg, FL.
This workshop will center on community member testimonials, allowing the committee to hear from individuals and communities across the Florida Gulf Coast who are considering relocation or have experienced it, as well as from communities who receive people moving away from environmental hazards. The committee will also have the opportunity to hear from local decision-makers to gain insight into the various processes associated with relocation and to learn about equity implications in the context of climate adaptation.
