The ancient Greeks believed one should practice gymnastics for the body and music to master the mind. I have been studying music since I was seven years old and fully concur with the Greek assessment. I am currently studying music composition as CSUN and am extremely passionate about knowledge, creativity and beauty. I encourage my students to play what evokes joy in them and to find their own voice. I teach all ages from 3 to 103 with an emphasis on Classical, Folk, Rock, and songwriting. I approach each student uniquely and adjust each lesson accordingly to each different personality. When I first began teaching I was so blessed to begin with my brilliant nephews and nieces as adorable guinea pigs and it taught me the invaluable skills of patience, persistence, and practicality. There is no one method for any one student and I believe the proof of that is to look at all the amazingly unique artists we all get to enjoy in our current age from Beethoven to Bob Dylan to Blaze Foley and Beach House. I am currently offering piano lesson's where I travel to you so you don't have to worry about the stress of stop and go traffic. My rates are $45 for 30 minutes, $55 for 45, and $65 for an hour.
